Overview

Varanasi, also known as Kashi or Banaras, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and the spiritual capital of India. This educational tour offers students an immersive experience of Indian spirituality, culture, history, art, music and the timeless traditions of the Ganges. Students can explore the sacred Ganga ghats, visit important temples and heritage sites, experience the famous Ganga Aarti, and learn about Varanasi's centuries-old cultural traditions. The tour can also include Sarnath, where students can study the history and teachings associated with Buddhism.

Best Time to Visit

October to March is highly recommended as the cooler weather is comfortable for walking around the ghats, temples and heritage areas. Best months: October, November, December, January, February and March. July to September: The monsoon can make the Ganga waterfront particularly scenic, but river levels and weather may affect boat activities and outdoor sightseeing. April to June: Generally less suitable for school groups because temperatures can become very high.
