Overview

Varanasi and Bodh Gaya are two of India's most significant spiritual destinations. Varanasi represents the spiritual heart of Hinduism, while Bodh Gaya is the place where Buddha attained enlightenment. This educational tour offers students an immersive experience of Indian spirituality, Buddhism, history, culture and art. The educational value becomes particularly strong when Sarnath is included – Sarnath is where Gautama Buddha delivered his first sermon after enlightenment, while Bodh Gaya is associated with Buddha's attainment of enlightenment.

Best Time to Visit

October to March is highly recommended as the cooler weather is particularly suitable for students visiting outdoor heritage sites, ghats and temple complexes. November to February is excellent with pleasant daytime conditions making this the preferred period for educational groups. April to June is generally less suitable because temperatures can become very high. July to September is possible, but monsoon conditions may affect the Ganga boat ride and road journey between Varanasi and Bodh Gaya.
